This summer has been busy so far! We are grateful for our family, friends, and neighbors that continue to support Dorothy’s in amazing ways!
Throughout 2016, we have received great press from The Dentonite, The Denton Record-Chronicle, Dallas Eater, and KRLD!
We started off June with two of our community farmers sharing their talents in the kitchen. Dorothy’s Garden Coordinator, Rachel, cooked farm fresh vegetables for Vegan Night, and Denton Gastronaut, Chris, cooked a delicious meal with his farm fresh mushrooms and homemade kombucha.
Our catering events have opened our space to the community this month! The Surratt Wedding, Bonding Bites, and collaboration catering with Gaia’s Goodness helped us share delicious meals with new friends.
We will be hosting two Saturday events this month. June 18 we are hosting a Mindfulness Dinner – a simple vegan meal with guided meditations in Thich Nhat Hanh’s “How to Eat”. June 25 will be Storytelling Night – a simple meal provided with open-mic story telling and special guests!
We will host our monthly community potluck and meeting on June 26. We discuss the past month, share our new intentions, and share ways of helping at Dorothy’s. If you’re interested in helping with breakfast, dinner, garden work, and/or special events, then the monthly meeting is a great introduction!
Peace & love!
